Scott Jones describes himself as passionate “art fanatic”, having purchased his first painting at the age of sixteen, and never really stopping. Scott painted watercolors as a teenager with a good friend’s father – Richard Van Wagoner – who later become the Head of the Art Department at Weber State University. Scott won a State High School Art Competition at the Springville Art Museum, and his watercolor painting of Delicate Arch was used by the ABC News Affiliate in Salt Lake City as their 6 pm and 10 pm News Logo.
Scott opted to study Business at Weber State University and then received his MBA at Purdue University. He is the former President and COO of Saddleman, Inc. – an automotive accessories company based in Logan, UT, with manufacturing plants in SC, OH, AZ, UT, CO, CA, Mexico, China, and Indonesia, Scott traveled extensively and tied many of his business trips to gallery shows and museum exhibitions.
“Many years ago, I told my daughters that they would know I was retired when I was in Jackson Hole selling artwork. That opportunity came much earlier than I expected when Legacy Gallery became my employer following the sale of our manufacturing company. I am very appreciative of my 10+ years as General Manager of Legacy.” Scott is now exploring his next chapter in his fascination with the arts.
