Are You Ready To Have 80 of the World’s Best Artists Inspiring You?
8th Annual Plein Air Convention and Expo
April 24 – 28, 2019
San Francisco & Wine Country
The Plein Air Convention & Expo is a must attend event for plein air painters. It’s the Woodstock of outdoor painting. By attending the 2019 Plein Air Convention, you’ll make personal connections with 80-plus of the world’s top painters (our faculty), plus many of your peers, and you’ll discover amazing techniques to transform your painting skills. We’ll have painting demonstrations on five stages, plus each day we’ll go out painting.
The event takes place in San Francisco, California, April 24-28, 2019. There are two optional 1 day pre-convention workshops with leading artists Joseph McGurl (April 23) and watercolorist Joseph Zbukvic (April 24) plus an art show and sale and more. All events will take place at the host hotel.
How PACE made me a Better Painter
I found the critique session invaluable. As a mostly self-taught artist, I had many significant aha moments as we looked at each submission (including mine) and heard the feedback/suggestions for improvement. The demos and interaction with other artists also made for an excellent experience. Thank you!
The demos were fantastic and taught me several new techniques which I was then able to try out in the field in several gorgeous locations. The instructors were all very helpful, supportive and encouraging. To top it off the art marketing bootcamp started each day with great ideas to sell and promote your art. I believe all this contributed to 4 art sales from paintings that were inspired by this convention. Looking forward to PACE 2019!
I’m popping up my values. In watercolor it’s tempting to stay in medium values because they’re so pretty, but I needed some punch.
Focus. PACE made me focus on the skill sets I needed to be a much better painter both inside and out.
