Mr. Amit kapoor, born in New Delhi in 1975, Amit Kapoor is one of India’s leading masters of watercolor. Celebrated for his ability to capture the soul of his subjects with light, shadow, and perspective, his award-winning works are held in prestigious private and corporate collections worldwide. Kapoor is the Founder of the Watercolour Society of India (WSI), President of the International Watercolor Society India, and former Vice President of IWS Global. He is also the Founder & Principal of Anitoons The School of Art & Animation, shaping future generations of artists. His leadership extends to curating and organizing major international festivals, including the International Watercolor Society India Biennale and Olympiart, the world’s largest watercolor festival. Internationally recognized, Kapoor is the only Indian watercolor artist to receive the Silver Star Award from the National Watercolor Society (USA) and the only Indian invited for a live demonstration by the world’s largest art channel, SAA UK. In 2024, he released his second book, Mastering Watercolor by Amit Kapoor. A sought-after teacher and juror, Kapoor has lectured at leading institutions including the College of Art, Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, Meerabai Institute of Technology, and Apeejay Institute of Design. He has also served on juries for the Jaipur Animation Film Festival and other global platforms. Beyond his art, Kapoor is a brand ambassador for Mejillo Mission Gold Colors and LANA Aquarelle Papers, with his own line of signature brushes by Escoda, Spain.
