Award winning, Northern California artist Ellen Howard is recognized for her tranquil and peaceful paintings that reflect the beauty found in nature. She is curious about the transitory elements of nature and loves going on hikes to discover quiet unexplored areas. She favors the irregularity of nature, the ragged rocks, and muddy waters of the marshlands and ever-changing sky.
Ellen is represented at Rieser Fine Art in Carmel, CA and Holton Studio Gallery in Berkeley, CA. She is the VP of Programming for the California Art Club and co-chair of the San Francisco Chapter. Her work has been showcased in the California Art Club’s Annual Gold Medal Exhibitions, Salmagundi, AIS and NOAPs. She has had two solo exhibitions at the Peninsula Museum of Art and Mendocino Art Center. Her work has been highlighted in Fine Art Connoisseur, Plein Air Magazine, and American Art Collectors.
Ellen is passionate about promoting the arts and regularly curates’ exhibitions and special events. She teaches weekly fine art classes, plein air workshops and writes a monthly newsletter.
