Project Description

Jennifer McChristian

Jennifer McChristian was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec and now resides in Southern California. After being in both the Canadian and American military she spent her formative years as an artist working in the animation industry in Los Angeles.

Having met so many wonderful, talented and inspirational artists in that profession she then decided to set out on her own artistic path, and has been painting steadily ever since!

Jennifer enjoys painting plein airs of both rural landscapes and urban cityscapes.

She also loves creating studio pieces where she can explore reference materials from her varied travels in greater detail on larger canvases.

Jennifer teaches local and international plein air painting workshops annually.

McChristian was the ‘Grand Prize’ winner of the 11th Annual PleinAir Salon Awards for her painting ‘Catalyst’. She was also awarded ‘Best Landscape and Plein Air’ for the 2023 Almenara Art Prize.

Jennifer is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) and and Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS).

McChristian currently resides in Glendale, CA with her husband Ben Fried and two magically inclined cats named Sesame and Cinnamon.
