Project Description

Kathie calIs herself a “Nostalgic Impressionist” as a way of identifying the subjects and style of painting that interest her most. With a real passion for plein air painting, she allows herself to get lost in the wonderful process of it all.

After graduating from The University of Tennessee in 1981 in Art Education and Fine Arts, Kathie received early recognition for pastel works. But it was 2009 when her artistic endeavors soared, setting her on a course for a career as an oil painter. Kathie travels extensively and spends much of her time oil painting in the great outdoors, teaching workshops and participating in plein air events while maintaining a studio in Knoxville, Tennessee.
