Lon Brauer

Lon Brauer is an award winning artist known both for his work in figure and plein air landscape. A much sought after teaching source, Lon gives his students new perspectives into the painting process through his love of experimentation within the confines of strong drawing fundamentals. His work shows a sensitivity and devotion to the representational while diving into the freedom of the abstract. Lon’s paintings have been shown in prestigious galleries both nationally and overseas and he has been featured several times in Plein Air Magazine. He holds signature membership with Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Outdoor Painters Society, and the American Society of Marine Artists. Lon travels extensively throughout the year as a top competitor in plein air events across the country. His home is in the heart of the Midwest – Granite City, IL …just outside of St. Louis. He enjoys teaching frequent workshops where he fosters drawing and painting skills through figurative themes.
